CHAPMAN CEMETERY

Bonaparte Township, Van Buren County, Iowa
North Center of Section 3

Chapman Cemetery is one of the smaller cemeteries not among those indexed by the
Van Buren County Genealogical Society.
You will find a listing of their available cemetery books on their
web site.

This cemetery is in Section 3 of Bonaparte Township on what was the old Haberman farm. The DAR in 1935 referred to it as the Chapman Cemetery, hence the name is retained here.

The area is fenced, but otherwise untended. The stones were lying flat on the ground, and completely covered to a depth of six or eight inches with leaves, vines, and fallen branches.

It is near the remains of an old farmhouse which was owned by Charles Keasling, and presently owned by Roy Chapman. (1964)
