BURRIER CEMETERY

Farmington Township, Van Buren County, Iowa
North Center of Section 19

Burrier Cemetery is one of the smaller cemeteries not among those indexed by the Van Buren County Genealogical Society.
You will find a listing of their available cemetery books on their
web site.

This was a burial place on the old Burrier homestead, along the West river road abut two miles south of the Des Moines River bridge. The farm is now owned by Arthur Cramblit.

The first two children of John Burrier (died 1873, aged 72 yrs.) and Priscilla, his wife, (died 1870, aged 59 yrs.,) were buried in the orchard just north of the home. The house is still standing, but the stones have disappeared. They were seen inn the attic of the house, Mr. Crambilt said, but are no longer there. Family records of Mrs. Gertrude Boyer, granddaughter of John Burrier, do not indicate names or dates of death of these children, except that they died as infants.

The Burrier parents and other children are buried in about the center of Section A, Farmington Cemetery.
